Västerås Regional Hospital has deployed BarraQuda for inventory and order management in their interventional labs, joining Akademiska in Uppsala and Gävle as reference sites in Sweden.
Research shows that automated inventory tracking in interventional suites can reduce consumable costs by up to 15 %, while also improving traceability and reducing the risk of expired materials reaching the patient.
BarraQuda uses barcode and RFID scanning to track every item used during a procedure — from catheters and stents to guidewires and balloons. The data feeds directly into the hospital’s procurement system, enabling automatic reordering and real-time stock visibility.
